Tales from the Norse Legends (Junior Classics)
Customer Review: Disappointing
I purchased the CD on the back of the two previous reviews. However, I must say I found the CD disappointing on two counts. Firstly, the stories could have been better written, and secondly the narrator’s voice lacks resonance, age, depth call it what you will. Compared to several CD’s I have purchased here in Germany on Greek Sagas, which score high in these two categories, I can’t imagine that I will be listening very much to the CD again.
Customer Review: Fantasic Fantastic
Wonderful reading by Benjamin. He really brings to life Loki and Thor. I am an adult who loves the viking myths. Buying this CD really was a trial. I was more than pleased. Not only is the language accessible for all age ranges, the depth of detail and presise description was creative and well balanced during both CD’s. The ending was the climax with dramatical classical music which feed the imagination as to the final battle between all good and evil. One thing, my book decribes the ending with two Gods surviving and creating a new ara whereas the CD’d version unfortunatly does not do so. Even so, without telling too much, this double CD is definiatly worth having if you love Viking Myths.
