Soft Rock Anthems collects all your favourite FM radio-friendly rock anthems from the wind-machine-blown, bemulleted chart gods of the 1980s. This 2-disc set includes power-pop stormers like the recently defiled “Valerie” by Steve Winwood, the classic “Out of Touch” by Hall & Oates, the vocoder-luvvin’ “Mr Blue Sky” by ELO, and the rousing “Africa” by Toto.
Customer Review: fine selection of soft rock songs
really wanted to give this selection five stars, ok there are some tracks from personal preference that i just don’t like, but as a whole there are easily more tracks i do like. i must confess it is easy to start singing along and embarrass yourself. so certainly i would recommend you buy this.

just one tiny problem, the version of Valerie is not very good at all.

when i dug out my chronicle’s cd by Steve winwood to check it wasn’t just me, it sadly confirmed that the version on rock anthems was an inferior one. As ‘Valerie’ is one of my favourites, that was a bit of a disappointment. Apart from that there are far to many good tracks here for anyone not to want to have it as part of their collection
The lyrics are mostly in French (which work best) with some in English, occasionally lapsing into cliche here and there, but rhythmically they mostly do their stuff. Charismatic frontwoman Jennifer Ayache has certainly done her pop homework, and you can detect the results of her extended stay in the US with the influences of SUM 41 and BLINK 182 well to the fore, but there’s enough gallic pezzazz there to give this group its own unique sound. The instrumentalists are tight and well drilled, and know all the tricks in the book without detracting from the songs themselves. Check out 2006’s ‘Wow’ CD which reveals an even more polished sound, and one cracker of a single, ‘Lola’, that fuses a eurovision-style chorus with disco rhythms and grungy guitars. The view across the Channel has never looked better!
Continue …

The combination of her peculiar, nasal, almost childish voice with the minimalism of Charlie Haden’s bass and Robben Ford’s acoustic nylon guitar creates a dreamy framework for an unforgettable recreation of several standards. The overall mood of the album is very intimate and light but at the same time deeply involving. Sound quality is very good, capturing both Rickie’s husky voice and the space where the instruments are playing, literally transporting you to the studio where the reording was made. There are times when you _hear_ Rickie smiling while singing, such is the palpability of the recording. The album is very balanced throughout, no song is really bad. Strongly recommended : probably one of my 20 “desert island” CDs.
Continue …

As long as they hold the data and offer the same load and save speeds as the official Sony products, then why not save some cash on it?!

I have found that this product does in fact work just as well as the Sony line of Memory cards. And to boot it comes in real purdy colors.
Customer Review: A DECENT MEMORY CARD
Its not as good as the authentic psx 2 memory cards, but if you want to save a couple of quid then this is the memory card for you. So far mine has been perfect, and loaded and saved just as quickly as my mates official one. With the old playstation I found that the unofficial memory cards sometimes wiped themselves, but that hasnt happened to me so far, and hopefully it wont. Only 4 stars though, because the official one looks better in your playstation.

This CD covers a wide range of American Rock ‘n’ Roll music. I bought it as I run a Rock ‘n’ Roll Club and particularly wanted a few tracks on this CD. There’s a good mix of jivers, strollers, smoochers and doo wop tracks which is great for the club. I personally would have prefered more up tempo jivers, but if you’re just after a CD to listen to at home, or in the car, then this CD will give you a bit of everything.

These are equiped with Fire & Forget missiles, Rockets, Incedury Armour Piercing Cannon & Sniper riffle. The other weapons are the ability to go Stealth and use Heat sensitive H.U.D to track enemy and troops on the ground, disabling larger artiliery and equipment with a E.M.P (electro Magnetic Pulse) Cannon.

Thankfully Midway have gone for the approach of Gameplay over sophistication and avoided trying to create a Hellicopter Sim on a platform thats not realy designed for the Simulation style game. And in fairness, they have done a good job at creating a mix of a popular style first person shooter except in a Chopper, and the ever increasingly popular “Stealth” Elements that have ocupied the consiance of Gamers since the late 90’s boom of stealth ‘Em Up Shooters & strategy games.

The F.P.S style element of the games kicks in early with the training mode allowing you to learn the basics of the vendeta attack ‘copter including weapons & target practice including the stealth capabilites of the Hellicopters. This quickly turns into an effort to help secure the safety of your base from the Attacking terrorist forces of the UES (United Eastern States). They are the target of the Fireblade swuad and feature in every mision.

Stealth Missions require you to keep absolute no contact with the enemy and to wipe out an possible threat that may discover you or compromise the special forces grounds troops you may be proecting. Use of the E.M.P & Sniper Cannon are a real skill that needs to be mastered.

The missions take on the role of Pro-active & Re-active assaults varying accross 4 Campaigns of differing terrain across the globe.

In brief, Fireblade is a good game, the in game graphics especialy are delghtfully rendered if slightly simple at times but it is slightly floored. The enemy need more AI to make this a more challenging game. The misssions can be slightly repetetive and on occasions frustratingly hard due to the verying inconsistant difficulty levels. The voice overs from the voice talent briefing you on your missions are cheesy but help to add to the fun element of the game.

I enjoyed it. But it has a short life span. Put it on your “Maybe” list but don’t dismiss it at all. It has plenty to offer for those of you looking for a decent Hellicopter combat game.
