If you have a PS2 and a lot of patience, with MTV Music Generator 2 you can now produce beats that are “phatter” than Fatboy Slim’s, more melodious than Quincy Jones’, and can get the dancers moving like you’re the long-lost sibling of the Chemical Brothers. Okay, maybe not, but even the most musically inept individual can produce a (somewhat) listenable tune with this powerful music tool.
Boasting more than 48 channels and 10,000 samples that vary in genres–including rock–MTVMG 2 is a small recording studio on a disc. You can either paste the samples together or alter them somewhat for creating more original sounds. Sadly, mouse support, which could’ve made navigating the many screens and menus less painful, is sorely lacking. Many of the instrumental samples we heard sounded quite sharp; however, the vocals were universally awful. The video creation tool is a cute feature for making forgettable psychedelic lightshows. If you’re serious about creating music, you must purchase the optional USB sampler accessory, which allows input from most audio sources into your songs.
While the sequel does feature some much-needed improvements over the original program, MTVMG 2 hasn’t evolved itself enough from its predecessor to get a solid recommendation. Still, it’s the only one of its kind for a video game console, and we like that even musical laymen can use it to make surprisingly decent tunes. –Mark Brooks

Customer Review: found wanting
A good game relatively easy to get hold of but in order to personalise you need the sampler kit as the vocal samples available are naff, Good uck as the kit is discontinued!
Customer Review: Best game available to date!
I’ve now been through the whole set of music games for the PS, this is the top dog of the lot. With a new addition of samples to create your own riffs nothing can stop you. Puchase a sampling kit and be on your way to inputting other equipment or even remixing other tunes. Definately a must have for tune makers and music lovers alike. Just make sure you’ve got time on your hands because when you start, you can be at it for hours. Absolutely perfect except for the intro- you must skip the intro. MUST BUY

Fantavision Customer Review: A Unique Blast
Fantavision is the only fireworks game I’ve ever came across and really offers up a completely unique twist of the family puzzle genre.
Like many simple puzzle games, the object is to link the same coloured lights together. When you have 3 or more, you can detonate them and they explode into pretty fireworks. Essentially its like bust-a-move without the bubbles and blocks and a real graphical treat for each chain you manage to create.
Yet it does feel completely unique. Whilst its never really challenging, it does hold you attention, and the two player modes make for maddening gameplay and lots of fun.
I’d recommend this to anyone who wants a fresh change to the usual gaming format as its a high quality piece of gaming. The replays are beautiful too!
Customer Review: A real ’sleeper’ hit!
When I first brought my PS2 I wasn’t realy intrested in this game one bit going instead for the more arcade games like Ridge Racer5… but after hearing so much about it I thought I’d give it a go. I was pleasantly surprised.Game play wise it has a lovely relaxed feeling about it even when the action on screen is getting very tense with the graphics never getting to muddled however colourful and complex they get on screen, the fireworks are simply amazing to be seen in the replay [which you can save]Sit back and play this game if you want a change from the norm.

Customer Review: Good heli-sim
A good fun flyer, that kept me amused for a few weeks. The tuttorial is part of this games down fall, but I don’t see it as negative but, funny as you should do, this is what it says: “buildings should be avoided,” and “the wind is blowing in the direction the wind meter is pointing” The tutorial isn’t what this game is about though, this is a rescue mssions game, and a good one too. As this is the only one on the market im sure plenty of people will buy this cheap fun. The controls are easily picked up and the gameplay is smooth.
If your into flying sims, buy this - i recommend it
Customer Review: Brill
For those who are searching for a game similar to simcopter - you have found it.
Really nice graphics and superb helicopters. However there are very few missions (8) and limited control of rescue equipment. Unlike simcopter you can’t control all tools at once - and even if say you have the rescue hook, it can only be lowered when you are above rescue spot.
This game is easily worth [the cost], you will get your money’s worth within the first day.
