Customer Review: Gliches Galour – Avoid
If you want a product that will freeze your DS, have to endlessly wrestling with, upgrading, patching, and launching across the room in frustration – this is the product for you. Games —– As standard, it can play only a very small percentage of ‘homebrew’ games, and none of the top ones. The magority of games will need to be ‘patched’ before you can use them – a bit of a chore – and even then they may not work. MP3’s —– The standard player on the device makes your favourite band sound like they are playing a paper-and-combe version of their song – and this is if you are lucky enough to find an MP3 that works with the device. Endless attempts to get even low bit-rate or ’shop bought’ MP3’s concluded each time in my DS freezing or crashing, leaving me concerned with what it may be doing to my Nintendo. Device —— It may boast touch screen interaction, but this oddly is the ONLY way you can opperate it – want to change a track on the move (if you were lucky enough to find tracks that might not freeze the system)? Well, you are going to have to get the DS out of your pocket, open it up, get out the stylus….hey, but I never even got this far to be annoyed about it. The card reader is also cheap and nasty – the SD card doesn’t click into it with a litte spring action loader; no, you have to cram that baby in there, and it doesn’t even seem to sit straight. I resorted to using another reader/writer which I was fortunate to have. Support ——- Forget it. The makers of this device don’t give two hoots about you, or their product and are impossible to get a response out of. Conclusion ———- When you buy something for a purpose, you expect it to at least make an attempt at meeting your requirements. A device for playing MP3’s and homebrew games that doesn’t play MP3’s or homebrew games….is it me, or is that sort of, well, useless? Cheap, tacky, poor interface, temperamental, poor quality playback and virtually incompatible with everything. Spend the same money on a cheap MP3 player, or get a DS storage device which includes Moonshell. The cost isn’t worth the 100 attempts to get it to do anything it’s supposed to. Rubbish.

ProStroke Golf : World Tour 2007 (PS2) Customer Review: Disappointing
I bought this game on the strength of the other reviews expecting to find a game to beat the classic Tiger Woods.
It is a good attempt at creating a decent realistic simulation but falls short on so many levels.
Each hole is marred by the same cut scene of your golfer staring up the fairway with an expression on his face that looks as though he needs the toilet facilities. This slows down every hole and is annoying when you have to press X each time to cut this out.
The caddy estimation of clubs and percentages are far from accurate and can lead to frustrating shots into water or heavy rough.
The cameras are placed in silly places, so when you view a shot to the green all you can see is the trunk of a tree.
The graphics are poor, the characters limited in their attire, there are not enough ’side’ game choices, i.e., you can either play matchplay or strokeplay.
The commentary is dire and in the end I turned that off. Comments like “it looks like he’s on the fairway” are ridiculous when you are blatanty dead centre in the middle of it.
Not being able to take a drop shot when you hit the water is also annoying and it’s so easy to go 14 over par on one hole because of this.
Wind direction indicator is appalling it’s hard to tell exactly which way the wind is blowing.
All in all, I was extremely disappointed with this game, I shall stick to Tiger Woods in future it offers more variety, better graphics, better gameplay, better commentary.
This could have been a good game but it has been let down by so many niggling faults. If you seriously enjoy golf simulations don’t pick this one.
Customer Review: Simulation or not?
I thoroughly enjoy playing this game. It is far more interesting, challenging and realistic than the Tiger Woods series and several current tour pros and real-life courses are featured. It creates it is own problems simulating the game excellently andthen leaving out two quite important aspects of the game:

1. There are no options to ‘drop’ the ball if you are in trouble or in the water. You automatically have to replay the shot.
2. You can’t ‘read’ (no grid) the green unless the ball is lying on it.

Other minor issues include:
-Where are the women golfing characters (not essential but it would be nice)?
-The characters are entirely emotionless, not even the faintest smile (or frown) is apparent.
-It would be nice to be able to customise your player a little more.
-There are absolutely no visible crowds making the crowd noises a bit spooky.
-The commentary is at times bizarre as it often comments on where the ball pitches rather than where it ends up e.g. ‘It is safely on the green’ when in fact the ball pitched on it and then rolled off into a bunker.
-The competition commmentary on the leaderboard is also mostly inaccurate: ‘He is two off the pace’ when in fact you may be top.

As I am a reasonable real-life golfer the problems may affect me more than some people but I feel it important that you are aware before buying.

If you can live with these faults(I can) then Prostroke Golf provides a magnificent version of the greatest game on Earth (my opinion).

Buy it and enjoy it.

Customer Review: Stepping into the Game
For a while now, I’ve been hunting for non-combative multiplayer games that I can enjoy with my daughter and Eye-Toy certainly delivers hours of fun. Standing in front of the telly and competing in various challenges, (sports, cookery and general silliness)you feel a bit daft with your arms flapping away, but what better way to spend quality time with the family.

Be warned, any adults standing nearby will want to join in.. then it gets very competitive! The eye toy is adjustable for height (a certain amount is needed when a 13 yearold is playing a 6″2 adult!)and you simply plug it into the USB port of your PS2 and GO. Other games on the market (like Spongebob eyetoy) add to the evolving method of gaming. NO MORE BUTTON BASHING GAMES!! BRILLIANT.
