Pop Idol - the Idols: Xmas Factor 
The Xmas Factor is a collection featuring all 12 finalists from 2003’s Pop Idol series, each getting a solo bite at the Christmas-classic cherry. Critics of the series may think it easy to dismiss the soon-to-be-forgottens but the truth is each of the finalists deliver a good performance and the group collaborations “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” and “On This Day” are good versions of great songs. There’s very little in it, but highlights include Sam’s charmingly warm “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” and Susanne’s wonderfully kooky “Santa Baby”. Another song worth noting for a completely different reason is “I Believe” in which Brian sounds eerily like the silver-tongued cavalier of Christmas tunes, Sir Cliff Richard.
So all in all, The Xmas Factor is a really good collection of songs for the festive season–you might not want to listen to it in July but it’d be nice to think it might get dragged from the back of the CD rack for later Christmases. –Georgina Collins

Customer Review: Guess who wants to cash in from other peoples songs?
What a disaster! This album is just plain poor. All of the songs which have been swiped from original artists are not fitting and provide terror to the ears. John Lennon would turn in his grave if he heard Happy Xmas(the idols version)and Rockin’ around the Christmas Tree sounds both drawn out, boring and is just not up to the standards of “Pop Idols”. “All I want for Christmas” and “Santa Claus is comming to Town” are just bad efforts. The originals of these songs are joyful, relaxing and festive. I am sure many people would disagree with my judgement, but can anyone seriously listen to this cd and hear anything but a money making scam. There was nothing wrong with the original tracks so why try and improve them.
Customer Review: Id rather buy the tweenies album
At first I thought the CD was broken, I checked all the conections and I was wrong. The CD was checked many times and then I saw them o the TV. No the CD wasn’t broken though it was just terrible. So terrible infact that I threw it out of my window onto my flaming pile of cds and other articles related made-for-tv musics. I brought this CD thinking it would bring Christmas cheer to my household after our pet Snake had died. But it just added to the saddness. I cannot beleive that people can get away with this. It is murdering the music industry. Report this to trading standards, these people must be stopped. Dont buy this record for anyone except possibly your mother in-law.
