Official Sony PlayStation 2 DualShock 2 Controller Customer Review: Superb.
Not much to write about this, 5 Stars explains it all; Brillant design and very family friendly, minor improvements would be need but have been made with the PS3 controller Six Axis Now out.The SIXAXIS controller, now wireless, is the same design with minor improvements with the L2/R2 buttons travelling further. Better feel, espically with FPS games. The controller is very stable and Untill Xbox360 Controller came out, leagues ahead of the other controllers, 5 Stars well deserved. Overall Rating 10/10!
Customer Review: King of Controllers?
I have been using the traditional PlayStation style pads since the launch of the PSX back in 1995, and believe that this standard revised in the DualShock 2 controllers was a great asset to the success of the PlayStation 2; the quality of the pads are consistently good and above all are ergonomically sound, and simple to become accustom to.
Over time however the pads become noticeably more and more unreliable – as with all equipment, but in comparison to other console brand controllers the DualShock 2 controller does wear a degree quicker. Accidents do happen I’m afraid and dropping a DualShock 2 can easily result in damage, considering these are retailing for around ?15 to date you would be completely right to expect some better protection within the controller.
Adequate care during use and storage will see the life-span of the controllers increase, other than that the vibration and analog control features of the controller are superb, still setting a competitive standard against third-party controllers – its wire length too is suitable to allow players the freedom to sit comfortably away from the screen without being too excessive when it comes to storage. Ultimately the controller isn’t perfect, but it’s an excellent choice for most players needs.

Silent Hill 2: Director’s Cut Platinum (PS2)
Gamers looking for intellectual horror will find it in Silent Hill 2. As the story opens, James Sunderland receives a letter from his wife telling him to meet her in the town of Silent Hill. The only problem is that she’s been dead for three years. In hopes of being reunited with her, he explores the haunted town, and has many terrifying and unexpected encounters. While the brilliantly designed monsters are indeed scary, it’s the complex twists and turns of the plot that really produce the game’s terror.
Gameplay is largely puzzle-based. Much of it involves gathering clues and items to solve each puzzle. There are a few fights thrown in, but these are quite easy, and mostly used to show off the developers’ bizarre creations. The level of both puzzles and fighting can be adjusted to match each player’s skill level. Although its mechanics are rudimentary, the game’s presentation is anything but. A heavy use of fog is the game’s hallmark effect, greatly adding to the mood. Sound–both effects and music–alternates between eerie silence and sudden, shocking crescendos.
Although the graphics and sound are both top-notch, the real star of this game is the story. It’s very rich and intricate–a sharp contrast to the banal scenarios that frame most games. The game is short (around 10 hours), but you’ll want to give it another go to discover its multiple endings and secret items. Despite basic gameplay, Silent Hill 2 is an excellent choice for gamers looking for cerebral thrills. Parents should note that in addition to violence and gore, this game deals with topics like suicide, murder, and euthanasia. –Raymond M. Padilla
Customer Review: Restless dreams?
Silent hill 2 is the best game in the Silent Hill series so far. With it’s deeply disturbing plot and a suitably fitting soundtrack this game is worth every penny. I borrowed Silent Hill 2 the first time I played it and have since purchased the directors cut. This is a game I can quite gladly play over and over again. Silent Hill 2 has many endings and items to unlock making this game worth playing more than once. One noteable fact about this game is being able to select both action and riddle difficulty levels, I found this a welcome feature of this game. Also worth mentioning is the ‘Maria’ minigame, I rather liked this and feels it does fill some of the plotholes that the main plot doesn’t cover, such as what Maria was doing in Silent Hill when the town was desserted. I won’t spoil the plot by going into detail. If your going to buy one version of silent hill make it this one, 5 stars well deserved.
Customer Review: scared me lifeless
It was the first time i got interested in the game after seeing the trailer for its release. the storyline attracted me and i had no idea what the style of the gameplay it was like. I was practically shaking and couldnt move after playing it for the first hour. amzing graphics and storyline. its the sort of game that pulls you in but only if you are really looking for a deep, complex story to go with tense gameplay.
although after a few plays throughout you will get used to the scares sadly and not much new comes out. but saying that you can experience different endings. and you can learn about how deep the characters are from the makers point of veiw. which is also freaky!
recommended if you want to scare yourself. but try to play the original before this title and see the differences in style of horror.
