I have been buying Medieval music CDs for the past few years, and I can safely say that this is the best one so far. On one hand, Some may say all the tunes sound samey, but on the other hand, all the tracks flow so smoothly from the beginning to the end. The tone of the CD is so warmly serene.
If you are interested in this genre, please do give this CD a try.

This is superb album, very good for relaxing to. The consort of viols with the mezzo soprano makes for a good blend and pathos in the sadder songs, particularly track 4 by Anon “O death, rock me asleep. Very poignant. Looking to buy more of the same. Recording quality is excellent and good price on the Naxos label.
